What a Bargain

Wow, great deal, only $900 billion. That is pocket change when your currency isn’t worth anything. Just keep printing that should pay for everything. What idiots. Nothing the government starts ever costs what the estimate says it does. Medicare, medicaid, SS all have cost tens of times what the real costs were estimated to be. This will be no different. Insurance Report says Health Bill would raise rates

2009 October 11
by Brien

A new Insurance Group Report says that the bill would cause the insurance rates to rise faster than if we did nothing.

“Those guys specialize in tax shelters,” said Nancy-Ann DeParle, director of the White House Office of Health Reform. “Clearly this is not their area of expertise.”

Oh yeah, The White House is really and Expert on health care costs.  That is why Medicare/Medicaid is working so well.  Unless I’m mistaken, the government insurance is bankrupt.

“What’s remarkable is not that we’ve had a spirited debate about health insurance reform, but the unprecedented consensus that has come together behind it,” Obama said in his weekly radio and video address.

Oh really Mr. President?  I think there has been a lot of protests against it and very little “DEBATE” going on.  It’s pretty much been “our way” or the highway with the Libs in Washington.

“The report makes clear that several major provisions in the current legislative proposal will cause health care costs to increase far faster and higher than they would under the current system,” Karen Ignagni, AHIP’s president and chief executive, wrote to board members Sunday. “Between 2010 and 2019 the cumulative increases in the cost of a typical family policy under this reform proposal will be approximately $20,700 more than it would be under the current system.”

Oh that sounds wonderful.  $20k more a year than now?  How in the hell would we pay for that? Add this to a VAT tax, a Cap and Trade bill, Capital Gains tax increase how the hell are we going to afford to eat.  You morons!

On Sunday, Democrats blasted the industry’s decision to release the report.

“Now that health-care reform grows ever closer, these health insurers are breaking out the same, tired playbook of deception to prevent millions of Americans from getting the affordable, accessible care they need,” said Finance Committee spokesman Scott Mulhauser. “It’s a health insurance company hatchet job, plain and simple.”

Wow, can’t believe they are disappointed in the release of this report before the vote in the Senate.  Yeah I would hate any light being shown on this plan of distruction.  What are these idiots thinking?  They won’t put tort reform in the bill that has been shown to cut health care costs by 10’s of billions.

Medicare Denies More Claims Than Private Insurance

2009 October 11

I posted this on facebook before, but I felt I needed to post it again.  The idiots in congress keep touting that their public option would be just like Medicare.  Well isn’t that nice.  They pay so little that most doctors won’t even accept patients that use it.   Oh yeah remember all the fools that keep saying that we already have rationed care due to insurers denying claims?  Well Medicare is the number one denier of claims by a 2 to 1 margin over the average of all other insurers.  Oh can’t wait for that great coverage.

Here is the story from BIG GOVERNMENT along with a chart showing the numbers.  Oh yeah don’t believe that site and the story?  Well here is the government report.

Here are some of my ideas  for reducing health care costs.

1) We go back to a catastrophic insurance program.  You get coverage for catastrophic care and pay your way on the rest.  This is how it originally was set up.   This makes everyone more responsible for their own health and care.  This would bring down the costs of care due to competition for your dollars by doctors.   You would actually see the cost of the care and be more thrifty with where your dollars go.   I mean how many of you actually know what the cost of care is when you throw down your insurance card and pay a $30 co-pay.  It is hard to make the costs go down when the prices are subsidized by guaranteed insurance payments.  This would also keep people from running to the doctor for every little sniffle.

2) Having a catastrophic coverage insurance program with a HSA (Health Savings Account) would also bring down the cost of the policy to where every American could afford it.   Having a tax deductible HSA would also help Americans pay for the program.

3) Allow a dollar for dollar tax credit for all medical costs.  This would help everyone pay for the costs of the insurance and medical costs.  This would also keep everyone from having to pay for tax subsides for their neighbors who “can’t afford the costs”.

I also find it hard to understand even today why so many say they can’t afford health insurance.  I think most people put the insurance priority last on their list even while they say it is their main problem.  I see a lot of people complaining about the cost while they still have cell phones for every member in the family including their kids, 3 or more cars, boats, motorcycles, cable t.v., smoke, drink, etc.   Get your priorities straight people.

Looks like overtime for the Ethics Commitee

2009 October 10
by Brien

My lord.  How many more of our representatives can possibly be under investigation?  Maxine Waters is the latest.  This article from the LA TIMES gives out the details of her involvement.  Funny thing is they had to put off an investigation of Jesse Jackson Jr.’s involvement in the Illinois Senate Seat that was vacant from Obama leaving.  Just put Maxine in the queue along with Charlie Rangel and his tax cheating self.   It’s wonderful to know that they Ethics Commitee is getting a workout on our fine congressmen and congresswomen.   I trust them to run our healthcare don’t you?  Didn’t think so.
